Text messages

Repair shops use Applianze to run their work. When you agree to it, the shop you're working with can text you about your repair from Applianze. This page explains how that works.

Who texts you

The repair shop you asked for service. Its texts are sent through Applianze, operated by Two Six Services Inc., and go only to US mobile numbers.

What the texts are about

Your own service, and nothing else:

  • booking a visit, confirming the time, and offering times to choose from
  • estimates, visit reports, invoices and payment reminders, sent as links
  • asking for a photo of your appliance's label, so the right parts get ordered
  • answers when you text the shop
  • a thank-you once the work is done, which may ask for a review

No advertising and no promotions.

How you agree

A shop can text you only after you say yes. You can say yes by:

  • telling the shop in person, on a call, or on a signed form (the shop records who, when and how)
  • ticking “Text me about this request” on the shop's online request form
  • texting the shop first, or replying START

A number with no answer on file gets no texts. The box on the form is never ticked for you, and saying yes is not a condition of any purchase.

What they look like

Hi Maria, it's [Shop name]. You're booked for Tue, Oct 14, 10 am – 12 pm with Raj. Reply here if that time doesn't work.

Hi Maria, here's your invoice #1042. You can see it and pay here: [link]

How often

It depends on your repair. A visit usually means a few texts: the booking, a reminder, a link to an estimate or invoice. Message frequency varies.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.

Stopping texts

Reply STOP to any text. That shop won't text your number again, and its records show that you said no. You may get one last text confirming it. STOP, END, CANCEL, QUIT and UNSUBSCRIBE all work. Reply START to turn texts back on. You can also just tell the shop.

Help

Reply HELP to any text, or write to [email protected]. For anything about your repair itself, contact the shop.

Delivery

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your number stays private
