Privacy Policy

What we keep

• For people who use Applianze: name, email, role at the shop, and a password stored only as a secure hash.
• For a shop's customers: what the shop enters, or what a customer sends through one of the shop's links. That means names, phone numbers, emails, addresses and access notes, appliance details and photos, work orders, estimates, invoices and payment records.
• For texting: whether each number said yes or no to texts, and when and how; the texts sent and received; and whether they were delivered.
• Basic records that keep accounts safe, such as failed sign-in attempts.

Card numbers are never entered in Applianze: a shop pays for its plan on Stripe's own pages, and customers pay their shop directly. We never see or store card numbers.

How it's used

Only to run Applianze for the shop: scheduling visits, sending the shop's estimates, invoices and texts, placing addresses on the map, reading model and serial numbers from label photos, billing the shop for its plan, and helping the shop when it asks. We don't sell personal information, and we don't show ads.

Who else handles it

A few service providers help us run Applianze, and only for that: hosting, text message delivery, email delivery, maps and address lookup, an AI service that reads appliance labels, and Stripe, which bills shops for their plans. They may use the information only to provide their service to us. We also share information when the law requires it.

Mobile numbers and texts

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with subcontractors that support our services, such as text message delivery and customer service. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. How texting works is explained on our Texting page.

A shop's records belong to the shop

Each shop decides what it keeps about its customers, and one shop never sees another's. If you're a shop's customer and want to see, correct or delete your details, ask the shop, or write to [email protected] and we'll help.

Applianze staff

To help a shop, a small number of Applianze staff can open its account and see and change what the shop's owner could. We do this to answer questions, fix problems and set things up, such as a texting number, and for nothing else.

How long we keep it

For as long as the shop uses Applianze, or until the shop deletes it. Texting consent records are kept so a shop can show when and how someone agreed, or said no.

Keeping it safe

Encrypted connections, hashed passwords, each shop's records kept apart from every other shop's, and access by role inside a shop.

Cookies

Applianze keeps you signed in with a token stored in your browser. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Applianze is for businesses and isn't meant for children under 13.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
